Scott leads the OneAmerica Financial^® nationwide network of companies and affiliates, which offer a wide variety of products, including retirement, individual life insurance, annuities, asset-based long-term care solutions and employee benefits. He was appointed president in 2013, CEO in 2014 and chairman of the board in 2017.

He began his 39-year career in the insurance industry at UNUM, where he served in a variety of financial roles, including chief financial officer (CFO) of UNUM’s Duncanson & Holt reinsurance subsidiary. In 2000 Scott joined OneAmerica Financial as vice president of strategic planning and corporate development. In 2004 he was appointed CFO. The Indianapolis Business Journal named him CFO of the Year in 2008.

Scott currently serves on the board of Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and the American Council of Life Insurers. He is past board chair of Indiana University Health, American Council of Life Insurers and The American College. Scott previously served as co-chair of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials – Swimming and as a board member for Ascend Indiana, Camptown, Inc., LL Global, Indiana Sports Corp, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the 2004 FINA World Swimming Championships.  

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and history from Middlebury College, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Maine. He is an alum of Harvard Business School’s advanced management program.
